Editorial policy

What we cover

Solar power, energy storage, wind, geothermal energy, electric mobility, grids, and the policy and trade decisions that shape them. We choose stories for their relevance to the energy transition, not for who is in them.

Checking before publication

Every new story is checked by an editor against its sources before it is published: names, figures, dates and quotations must match what the source says. A story that changes after publication is checked again before the new version appears.

Sources and credit

Every story names the publication or organisation its information comes from and links to it where possible. Quotations are reproduced as published. Images in our archive belong to their original publishers; if you hold the rights to an image and want it removed, write to us and we will act within 48 hours.

Figures and data

Figures on country pages come from named public datasets, each shown with its source and the period it describes. They are fetched automatically; a figure that changes sharply from the previous one is held until an editor has checked it. A figure we do not have is shown as missing, never estimated.

Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us through the contact page. We correct errors promptly, and a correction that changes the substance of a story is noted on the story.

The archive

Stories published before the site was rebuilt in October 2026 are kept as they were published. We are reviewing them and correct or remove stories where needed.
