The company’s new portfolio features specialized machines like the SUYUAN bipedal robot, which utilizes a dual-battery hot-swap system to ensure continuous operation. By integrating embodied AI with advanced hardware, the firm aims to address global labor shortages and enhance factory efficiency. These innovations, supported by 51 new AI models, focus on streamlining production processes, equipment maintenance, and quality control through a sophisticated, real-time digital factory architecture.
The centerpiece of the announcement includes several specialized robotic platforms. The SUYUAN bipedal humanoid, equipped with 41 degrees of freedom and multimodal vision, is engineered for material transport and assembly. Alongside it, the TUOYUAN wheeled humanoid utilizes force-position hybrid control to handle intricate tasks such as connector insertion and automotive sheet metal loading. Furthermore, the Mermaid robot is capable of autonomously identifying and operating industrial controls, while a dedicated pipe-processing robot can perform precise chamfering within confined spaces with sub-millimeter accuracy.
Beyond physical hardware, Shanghai Electric launched its StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing platform, which hosts 51 AI models and agents. These tools are designed to optimize everything from research and development to wind turbine maintenance. The company’s new AI-Native Smart Factory framework coordinates these agents with a central “factory brain” and digital twin technology, allowing for real-time adjustments to production lines. By combining these intelligent agents with high-performance components like the DexHand robotic gripper, Shanghai Electric is positioning its technology as a practical, scalable solution for modern industrial automation.
